New And column out—

About Marco Rubio’s claim that Obama telling Muslims they’re discriminated against is “divisive” and sets Americans against each other.

Of course Rubio is rapidly becoming too inconsequential to care about, but as I note in the piece, his view is a common one. Discrimination and bigotry are never considered divisive — well not by anyone invested in the status quo — it’s talking about them that causes trouble. Raise issues of racism against minorities and you’re a “race hustler,” if not outright oppressing white people. Talk about police shooting blacks without justification and you (according to FBI Director James Comey) inspire attacks on cops. The actual shootings? Nope, nothing divisive about those.

Check it out if yu have the time.
