Where is Bond Now, Part Two: Lazenby to Dalton

Now that I’ve watched License to Kill, time to catch up on the careers of the post-Connery Bonds (Connery I covered here).
•Although he’s my least favorite Bond, George Lazenby did show flashes of talent in On Her Majesty’s Secret Service. This includes appearances in TV series such as The Pretender and Batman Beyond and a smattering of movies. The only really Bondian appearance is as secret agent “JB” (driving an Aston Martin) in The Return of the Man From UNCLE.
•Roger Moore has worked in a variety of roles since A View to a Kill, many of them Bond-influenced: Voice roles in Cats and Dogs: The Revenge of Kitty Galore and The Fly Who Loved Me and a head spy in Spice World among them. I must admit though, his career pre- and during- Bond is more memorable, most notably his turn as The Saint in the British series based on Leslie Charteris (a role I think he fitted much better than he did Bond). He also has a surprisingly effective turn as Holmes in Sherlock Holmes in New York (not a definitive Holmes, but entertaining) and an anti-Bond role of sorts as the woman-hating spec-ops commander Ffolkes.
•Timothy Dalton has had a wide variety of roles post-License to Kill. A number of them include villains: Volkoff the spymaster in Chuck, a Nazi agent in The Rocketeer, Rassilon in Doctor Who as well as a heroic Bond role in Looney Tunes: Back in Action.
Nothing as spectacular as the best of Connery’s roles, but fairly respectable, I think.
I’ll post the next of these when I finish Pierce Brosnan’s run.
