I can’t imagine a kids comic book today would show the lead characters smoking without raising a hue and cry. Back then (1960, several years before the once-legendary surgeon’s general report officially labeled cigarettes as a cancer risk) anti-smoking types were looked on as crackpots. #SFWApro.
