Ambushed by the Outage!

Internet went out for several hours yesterday, which threw off my schedule enough I didn’t get to blog anything. Plus I spent the evening at a launch party for William Stadler’s Extracted. William’s a member of my writer’s group; I’ve downloaded the book (it’s only Kindle-available) but haven’t read it yet.
Despite yesterday’s Internet disruption, a productive week:
•I finished and submitted Atlas Shagged, a new flash fiction. I worked on a couple more flash stories—one needs a couple more rewrites, one needs … an audience, I think. Once I get a chance, I’ll give it a read before the writer’s group and see what they think.
•I submitted Peace With Honor to the Monster Earth anthology.
•I got about 6,000 words done on the new draft of Brain From Outer Space. I’ve tried to come up with a perfectly replotted outline, but my mind just doesn’t plot from scratch that well—and unfortunately, much of this is from scratch, rather than refining. So I’ll forget ahead and pray it comes together.
•I also began work on Let No Man Put Asunder, an older novel I’ve been meaning to rewrite for awhile. Quite aside from some minor changes, I no longer have the manuscript—it got lost in my move—so I don’t have any choice but to rewrite it.
•I had a new And column out, on the inevitable post election claims that the winner does, or doesn’t have, a mandate.
•I’ve almost finished a new story for Raleigh Public Record.
