A few more links

Primarily one of mine to a Destin Log column. One of the local pastors back where I used to live was fulminating about the eeeevil of women being able to get birth control (“A culture of contraception!”—which he seems to think is a bad thing) so I shot back.
In other links:
•Right-wing libertarian Megan McArdle argues that just because Virginia’s new law may mandate vaginal probes doesn’t mean government is like, coercing the women or anything, so it’s not the sort of government power she objects too. And besides, abortion’s way more intrusive (as several people have pointed out, the significance of consent seems to elude her). Another shot at McArdle here.
•Prenatal screening, according to Rick Santorum, is just as bad as abortion, pretty much.
•Rich Lowry at National Review defends Santorum by arguing a)he’s sincere. b)he offends liberals!
Unfortunately, I don’t care that he’s sincere, he’s still wrong, both on facts and on principle. And whether or not he offends people doesn’t change either of those facts (I offend a lot of people, but I’m pretty sure Lowry doesn’t think that proves my views are worthwhile).
