Work and Schedule Both Went Pretty Well

No spectacular breakthroughs at work this week, but still I feel satisfied.
The biggest annoyance is that as soon as I mentioned wanting to do eHows in 55 minutes each, I seemed to slow down. Today was the worst, so I’m about an hour behind in fiction (nothing I can’t catch up on but it annoys me on principle). I’m quite pleased that I spent this evening catching up on all my rewrites——there will be more, eventually, but I’m now work-free for the weekend! Well, Raleigh Public Record staff meeting Sunday, but still, it’s a nice change (I’ve been doing rewrites the past three or four weekends,IIRC).
Fiction went a little better. I did a lot of Regency research for Mage’s Masquerade, but decided I needed to take a break and let the story sit until next month. I brushed up Impossible Takes a Little Longer and sent it to the one member of my writing group who expressed interest, and a couple of friends whose opinion I would value (my regular beta-readers took a look at it some years back, so I don’t think I need to demand their time again). There’s a couple of points I’m really curious about how they’ll react, but of course I can’t ask them because that might bias them (“Hmm, he’s right, that was unconvincing now that I think about it.”).
Brain From Outer Space I completely locked up on when I tried writing early in the week. By today I thawed out again and it’s moving smoothly. Everything seems to be coming together in the plot (of course, I’ve said that before).
The schedule adjustments I mentioned earlier this week went pretty smoothly. I took my break, marked the end of the working day, didn’t push myself to keep working through breaktime … it makes a difference.
