Internet miscellanea

•The New York Times predicts that Goldman Sachs’ buying Facebook could lead to big profits for them, more economic problems for the rest of us.
•Echidne of the Snakes discusses yet another allegedly scientific study showing women are hardwired to want rich husbands. Echidne is not impressed (her analyses of evolutionary psychology pop science are always good reading)
•Christian Science Monitor discusses the new food-safety bill (unsurprisingly, the Republican Congress is outraged that the government would attempt to restrict agribusiness from selling tainted food). Having ripped into Obama on many occasions, I think it’s worth point out he’s still better than what we’d have with McCain in the White House (no DADT repeal, probably no Lilly Ledbetter act, no canceling the global gag rule).
•On the other hand, this article about how Obama handles defeat says something I’ve been thinking, but puts it better than I would have.
