God said ha!

Starting the week I felt pretty optimistic my new schedule would work well. The only drawback was that instead of three hours extra work, I’d devote three hours in the evening to regular work, to make up for running errands one morning.
God said ha. Best laid plans of mice and men. Yeah, one of those weeks.
Tuesday, my sister (who has been taken on a lot of the long-distance responsibilities for helping out our Mum) asked me for help with a couple of projects. And TYG asked me to dredge up our home warranty so I could call the company and find a plumber. Both these took place right at the end of my lunch break, so I was stuck letting things bleed into work time (I had writers’ group that evening so make-up time was non-existent).
Wednesday, I had to take time out for the plumber. As I’ve mentioned in the past, it’s not so much that the time involved was great, but these things distract me and break up the routine, which kills my rhythm.
Thursday, odd sounds from the car cut my trip short (although the mechanic says it’s perfectly fine). Still, I did manage to update my business license for my new address and mail off some material to my sister.
It would have been a bigger mess if I’d taken the care in, but despite her heavy schedule, TYG managed to get that done (we’ll pick it up tomorrow).
While that cost me a few eHows, I’m still doing well for the month, so I shall look on the bright side. In addition:
•I rewrote Peace With Honor, reducing some of the talky bits at the start and tightening up the big monster-on-monster fight. I read it for the writing group next Tuesday.
•And the big one: I finished Impossible Takes a Little Longer. Finally. Rewritten. Done. And submitted, no less. It’s been a couple of years since I completed a really big project so it really feels good.
