It’s a better world where people are free to marry without concern for the sex of their partner.
Doing so neither picks my pocket nor breaks my leg, to paraphrase Thomas Jefferson. It harms none and benefits millions.
In a century that’s so far been marked by a ton of rancid Supreme Court decisions, this was an unambiguously good one.
The right wing predicted apocalypse. It would kill straight marriage. Ministers would be forced to participate in gay weddings. Preaching against homosexuals would be banned. Gay people would run around molesting helpless straight children to turn them gay. None of it happened.
To everyone who personally benefited from the freedom to marry, I’m happy for you. To everyone who supports it because it’s a freer, juster world now, good for y’all.
