Links for a hectic morning

I wrote Sunday about the “Vanilla Isis” protesters seizing an Oregon wildlife sanctuary. Here are some relevant links:

•The Audubon Society on the significance of the refuge.

•The “Y’all qaeda” activists insist that black protesters get much better treatment.

•Deadspin suggests that calling them terrorists, activists or anything that implies they have a cause beyond “we have guns give us respect” gives the “jamokes” more credit than they deserve. Salon likewise points out the real issue of the Bundy rancher clan is “free land for ranchers” which is totally different than welfare.

•Despite which, a lot of rightbloggers think these guys are heroes.
