I did kind of run out of steam at the end (#SFWApro)

flash175I made my 40 hours of writing quota this week, but like Flash, I was pretty much run off my feet (cover by Al Plastino, all rights to current holder). In fairness, I also dealt with a couple of contractors (lighting and AC) so I did pretty well. And some of the drain was kind of fun.

Monday, TYG and I went out to dinner, and as usually happens when I eat large and late in the evening, I didn’t sleep well (acid reflux will do that). Totally worth it — it was Cheesecake Factory — but I was zonked Tuesday.

Wednesday we had another social event with some of her friends or I might have done a little extra work in the evening.

Thursday the pups went into doggie daycare again. I got a lot of work done, but I’d woken up late from the Wednesday fun and so I wound up really pushing myself to make up for the (relatively small)amount of lost time. And I pushed hard enough I was quite zonked by evening. Then TYG wound up staying up late, so I did some work so that I could get up late Friday and not be behind.

Unfortunately, Plushie chose a sleeping position on the bed where he was touching both me and TYG, which left me with a very limited range of sleeping positions. Too limited as it turned out, so my sleep was reduced to small chunks with intermittent waking. As a result I was not at peak today and spent most of the afternoon watching Life on Mars for the time-travel book and working on polishing the credits.

That said, I was only slightly behind in my Demand Media work, and got my full fiction quota in, though on the sleepy days I wasn’t writing very effectively. My work on Southern Discomfort was almost entirely limited to reviewing my outline notes and previous chapter.

The contractor work went well. We got an AC problem fixed and a light fixture installed on the living room fan. That makes the room much brighter. I’m particularly pleased to learn that Lowe’s steered us to a universal fan fixture that really was universal — our electrician said he was surprised that worked too.

As usual the marketing stuff I’d planned to do got the shortest shrift. Overall though, two thumbs up. But I do hope I get a solid night’s sleep this evening.
