So, Christmas (#SFWApro)

Last year I gave TYG syphilis for Christmas. This year I gave her rabies.

Relax. She likes disease books (so do I) so I got her Pox and now Rabies. Thumbs up for both.

I also got her shoes and made banana bread, among other gifts. I make banana bread every Christmas, and usually her birthday too. She loves it.

My gifts?

•The Criterion edition of The Testament of Dr. Mabuse. It’s a great film, though it’ll be a while before I have time to watch it, as I’ll want to do the audio commentary too.

•A couch-arm table—a stiffened fabric box with pouches off the side, to use as a storage space on the couch arm. Our couch really isn’t set up with any table space, so this gives me somewhere to put remote-controls, phone and bowls of food when I’m watching DVDs for the book.

•Sweat pants. I live in them this time of year.

•Chocolates.

•Gift cards to Amazon and B&N, already used up (well, a couple of bucks left on the B&N one).

•My friend Ross got me a two-movie edition of Sidney Poitier and Bill Cosby’s Uptown Saturday Night and A Piece of the Action. Both very funny.

•So from a purely material point, very good. From the perspective of snuggling with TYG and playing with the pups, also quite enjoyable.
