Returning to the mean, with puppies (#SFWApro)

As I’ve written before, when I do really really well one week, the odds are I’ll do worse the next (AKA, return to the mean). Conversely, after two weeks of doing almost nothing because, puppies, this week was better. I almost made my Demand Media quota (self-imposed, I should note) and got my full slate of films for the book.
On the downside, I still didn’t get anything else done. No fiction, no marketing, no queries. But I’m starting to get a schedule of sorts, and that’s helping. However, my working regularly or trying to seems to annoy Trixie. I do make it a point to stop regularly and play with her (and Plush Dog) but today she decided I wasn’t playing when she wanted me to, and peed on the couch (covered, fortunately). TYG was also out more of the day today than she has been, so that undoubtedly made a difference. However, Trixie’s just going to have to get used to it. I accept that I need to carve out time to spend with her, but it won’t be whenever she wants it.
Another problem has been that TYG has been sleeping downstairs so she can hear if Plush Dog has another pain attack. I’ve had to restructure my morning schedule so I don’t wake her, and still get work done. In bed. With a dog on my lap. It’s tricky.
Trixie by the way, has a very catlike fondness for wanting to climb on the computer. Don’t I know my lap is her property?
But now the week’s done and I’m ready to relax.
