Productive chaos (#SFWApro)

This week didn’t run at all the way I’d mapped it out. So I got in my writing time (and even a little extra) but not distributing it as I’d planned.
Part of that was Tuesday’s pareto mess. Part of it is that vacation starts next week so I decided to do extra Demand stuff at the start of the week, then stop. That way if there were any rewrites, I wouldn’t have to do them on vacation.
Only some of the tech articles haven’t been reviewed yet, so I may have to rewrite them next week anyway. So I figured hey, why not do some extra articles today and put more money in my pocket. Which obviously meant less time for other stuff.
So I ended up with a fair bit of Demand stuff, plenty of work done on the movie book and roughly eight hours of fiction. The latter being a sour note, because I’d planned more, but paying work being so slow in April and May, I figured a little extra cash should be a higher priority (especially when I’m off next week).
Still, the time I did have was productive. I finished reworking my super-hero short story (it’s still a mess) and did a rough rewrite of Atlas Shagged based on Every Day Fiction’s feedback (I think they were right about the story wandering, but it was an easier fix than expected). I reviewed my rewrite of Grass Is Always Greener based on the writing group’s feedback, and it looks much better.
I may do a little extra fiction writing this evening, as TYG has a social engagement. Or maybe not.
Still, given I had to take time off Tuesday for a doctor’s appointment (routine checkup), I’m pretty pleased with my work ethic.
