I suppose you’re wondering why I haven’t called you here (#SFWApro)

So when I left town last weekend, it was for a visit to SC (where I still am now), leaving TYG, alas, behind. There are two different Mensa events here I’m attending both weekends, so it seemed practical (and fun!) to stay the week rather than double-trip.
As my friends are professionals, I figured I’d have lots of time by myself, which I’d use to watch movies for my time-travel book.
I had forgotten than one of my friends was part-time and working from home. So instead of lots of time to fill, I wound up spending most of my time hanging out. Which is not a complaint—I’m here because I like hanging out with them—but it did leave me with almost no work time. And that was taken up with a promised beta-reading for one of my fellow writers, and getting the new And column out. So as I don’t want to spend my time staring at my computer while with my friends, no blogging.
Not that I feel that bad about it. I’ve visited a beautiful city park, had some excellent tea at a tea shop downtown, visited a much over-priced animatronic dinosaur exhibit and seen some of my other friends down here. There will be more fun this weekend.
And Facetime on the iPhone lets me chat with TYG and see her at the same time. That’s nice.
I may post over the weekend, but maybe not, depending how much fun I’m having. I should be back home and back to a regular schedule by Monday.
