The right wing speaks!

First we have Anne Althouse, a conservative blogger who’s shocked, shocked and appalled that Barack Obama wanted to sleep with Michelle before marriage (and, I gather, admits he did): “There’s zero regard for the folks in this country (and world) who think you shouldn’t have sex until you’re married.”
Yes, because dammit, what kind of scumbag doesn’t submit to the will of the majority in engaging in consensual sex?
LGM, Hullabaloo and Echidne all report on a video of Scott Terry, a young man attending a conservative conference and telling a black Republican that segregation is good, Fredrick Douglass’ owner had nothing to be forgiven for (didn’t he provide the ungrateful slave with room and board free?) and women should not correct men in public. My only surprise, given the past couple of years, is why anyone would wonder (as some do at the links) if this could be a put-up job by the left.
•Alan Greenspan, who enthusiastically championed the Bush tax cuts that helped eat away at the Clinton-era budget surplus, now insists that we have to slash entitlements because the government doesn’t have enough revenue.
Someone once pointed out that Greenspan championed the hike in Social Security taxes under Reagan, which helped generate the surplus, and affected primarily the poor. Then he championed tax cuts that dissolved the surplus and made the rich even richer. Now he’s decided we have to slash support for the poor (though he’s okay if we have to raise taxes too). While I doubt this was a long-term plan, it sure feels like one.
