Returning to the mean, but not too close

As I’ve mentioned before, one really good week is often followed by a drop in performance, just by the law of averages. In this case, averages helped along by having to work a doctor’s appointment and the first draft of my 1040 into my schedule (plus a side project). Despite which I’m pretty pleased (and also pleased that I can actually get the taxes done—I’d worried they might prove too complicated as I’d be filing for two).
•I finished my 5,000 words of Let No Man Put Asunder for this month.
•I redrafted Affairs of Honor and I’m really pleased with it. I’ll do another draft this month for details (description, 1790 fashions, etc.) then probably print it out for reading aloud next month.
•I got most of a rewrite of The End of the World on the Cutting Room Floor (I do prefer that as a title to Mise-en-Scene) and I think I’ve gotten most of the bugs out regarding the central section with the cult. I hope to show it to the writing group soon.
•My article for Brass got accepted. I’ll let you know when it appears. I was quite pleased that my first attempt met with ready acceptance.
•I sent off one article query and drafted another to go out next week. I have another query that’s drawn definite interest, but nailing down the time-frame is a challenge (we need to find a particular event we can tie it to).
And that pretty much covered it. Not as much as I’d anticipated, but not sluggardly either.
