Ending on a win

Unless I try squeezing out a little work on Monday (I doubt it), I have now wrapped up my writing for 2011.
The week was, of course, short—Tuesday off, a light Monday—but I think it went well.
•I completed my December goal for Brain From Outer Space—20,000 words—and sketched out the plot for the next section. The new scenes are, as usual for me, not great, but I’m 40,000 words in and I’m still not getting the Oh, Shit, I’m On The Wrong Path feeling (and my gut is pretty reliable). Hopefully that’ll hold true next month. It’s still going to need heavy rewriting, and there’s parts I’m still not pleased with (Dani’s story arc still isn’t coming together) but overall I’m pleased.
•I rewrote The Happiest Place on Earth (retitled from Now It’s Time to Say Goodbye—and I may change it again) and I think it’s good to go. Next month I’ll give it a print out and go over it in hard copy. If we have an opening to read, I’ll ask the writer’s group for feedback.
•Affairs of Honor (retitled from Not by Honor Bound) looks really good—as far as I got. At the point my protagonist busts out of jail, I’m lost—I have no idea what happens next. He’s so completely cornered I can’t think of any effective option—but when I figure one out, it’s going to be great.
