My new And column offers a New Year’s resolution for Washington. It was inspired by a comment on Slacktivist——I don’t have the exact post——that since we’re so lousy about being moralists, we should start being realists. Instead of anticipating how wonderfully everything will work out when we deregulate everything/invade everything/give government the power to imprison everyone, how ’bout Obama and Congress consider the possibility there’s a down side?
