Another week of work done, except for a couple of eHow rewrites I’ll do over the weekend.
I seem to be settling in to the eHow tech articles pretty well, even though it’s still slower going than the Money/Business ones. Which are still turning up, but as soon as one does, everyone leaps on it to claim it, so if you’re not there, poof!
There was also much discussion in the eHow writer’s forum of the titles available (we’d all like more), and some helpful commenters mentioned the names of other sites where we can hunt freelance work. Since my efforts to date to add a few more clients haven’t netted much other than my And column gig, I’ll check some of that out next week.
The week in fiction was … unremarkable. Everything I worked on progressed some from the previous draft, but nothing really reached the A-Ha, I have it now! stage. Doom-Tripper probably came closest. I submitted And He Bought a Crooked Cat anew, so I now have six shorts and Questionable Minds (novel) out. That’s better than I’ve done in a while.
One minor annoyance, which I can’t quite explain, is that when I wake up early, I’m not using my time productively. I play on the Internet, read and at most use half the time for writing. I’m not quite sure why this is, but it’s quite annoying (the work in the night/take a nap approach has served me very well).
