A draggy end to a good week

I’m not quite sure why I felt so off today, but I couldn’t quite seem to get it together. I was way too slow on eHows and spent much of my fiction writing time staring at the wall.
Overall though, a good week.
•I finished the first draft of the rewritten Impossible Takes a Little Longer. Next step: Adding some color and detail to the scenes (I tend to skimp on description——some people assume I’m being minimalist, only I’m not).
•I rewrote Kernel of Truth, which I set aside last year, and it’s shaping up (or reshaping up) much better than I thought it would. And by dropping the supposedly indispensable scenes my betas had problems with, I’ve chopped out about 1,000 words.
Brain From Outer Space is progressing. Slowly, but it’s definitely inching towards a finished replot.
•I submitted my first political column to And magazine. I’ll let you know when it comes out (I’m going to be a regular contributor).
More Scary Kisses is now out in ebook!
•I started on a new assignment for Raleigh Public Record. It’s gone moderately well——I’ve enough material to do an adequate story, but I need at least one interview to make it outstanding. I’ll fill you in when it goes live.
Savage Wild Magic (which I may retitle A Happening in Hell—or I may not) is another one that’s improved greatly in rewriting. Unfortunately, it was the one I was doing the staring-at-walls bit with this morning or I might have finished the rewrite.
And I submitted two of my outstanding stories, though there are still two or three I need to get out. I feel rather unprofessional not getting them out there but I just couldn’t manage it.
Much as I love what I do, I’m ready for a lazy weekend.
