A disordered week alright.
On the weekend, the project we’ve been working on ran into some obstacles. We also discovered a couple of wedding plans had come unstuck. This stressed out TYG a lot, and I can’t help but feel some of that. And when I get stressed, I don’t sleep, so I was not at my most efficient this week.
By Wednesday, everything was back under control (at least for the moment) and we spent a long afternoon running necessary errands and dining at California Pizza Kitchen (wild mushroom pizza: Good!).
Despite feeling I was slowing to a crawl—and a couple of site shut downs at eHow—I managed to make the quota for the week. I also signed up with a freelance newsletter and bid on a couple of freelance job offers (no results, though).
Fiction was slow, but that’s partly because I don’t have anything which is in near-finished mode; it’s all rough-hewn and unformed (or I’ve no idea what form it should take) so there’s not much pride to be taken yet. Plus, being in that stage (and tired to boot) leaves me feeling “Well, this is going nowhere, guess I’ll browse the net.” A mistake. Always.
Regrettably all the problem-fixing, wedding planning and the shopping trip (which was fun—it’s been a while since I had two hours to just goof around Barnes and Noble) left me no time to submit anything. I have several that need to be going out. But next week!
On a personal note, I’m getting close to the weight I was at when I moved up here last year. For various reasons, I spent several months unable to exercise, and put on several pounds, so it’s nice to see things trending in the other direction.

To paraphrase Chairman Mao, there is disorder under heaven but the situation is not too bad
