I was pumped about work this week.
I just needed to do a few Demand articles on Monday, then I could devote Tuesday-Thursday to other projects. Southern Discomfort. An assignment for Raleigh Public Record. My Boys’ Life article.
Then Sunday I came down with a bug. I spent the day doing next to nothing and resting up, which usually takes care of it. Monday I was back to work, a little draggy but functional. The day was productive (And column drafted, some queries sent out, plus the articles). I figured Tuesday I’d be up to snuff.
Unfortunately the bug has lingered … and shifted from general weariness to giving me hacking coughs. And TYG caught it to. So if my coughing doesn’t wake me up, hers does. And the combination of illness and lack of sleep left me largely useless. I did some extra Demand articles, but that was all I could make myself focus on. Very frustrating. I also gave up my plans to devote a day to errands, as I really didn’t feel alert enough to drive.
So yeah, kind of sucky. Plus I got two rejection emails on stories.
However we’re both improving so hopefully I’ll be fit as a fiddle and ready for action by the time Monday rolls around.
