Despite waking up early this morning, I still feel off-balance and unfocused today. The fact I may have to attend to some not-quite-emergency matters tomorrow morning instead of writing doesn’t help.
So rather than put enough thought into a coherent blog post, here’s a few links of interest.
•My best friend, former Regency author and now Christian author Cindy Holbrook, wrote a post about not so much time management but the attitude we bring to our time. As someone who tends to overstress on time management, I quite liked it.
•Georgia State Rep. Bobby Franklin (a Repub. Big surprise.) wants to change state law so that rape victims and domestic violence victims will be referred to as “rape accusers” until the alleged rapist/abuser is convicted. This change does not affect victims of any other crimes. Go figure.
(Let me point out that being raped and accusing a specific person of the crime are two separate things and that even a victim who accuses the wrong person or doesn’t accuse anyone is still a victim).
•Digby has been tracking the ongoing efforts of the new Congress to make abortion harder and harder to get, even when it’s necessary for life-saving. This post here recounts a bill to that effect.
To paraphrase Alan Grayson, the Republican abortion policy can be summed up as “We’d rather you die than have one.”
•To accompany my post from yesterday, here’s Roy Edroso reviewing right-wing reactions to Reagan’s birthday.
