Murphy Anderson was one of the first, possibly the first artist I was a fan of. I don’t know why Anderson rather than, say, Gil Kane or Jack Kirby; then again, it doesn’t matter. He’s good, I liked his work, why worry about reasons? In any case, here’s some of his cover art from the Silver Age, when covers had to grab you as you flipped through the spinner rack.
