It’s a cliche to put up a post on Thanksgiving about everything you’re grateful for, but it’s also appropriate. So what the heck.
I’m grateful I spend my days writing full-time (less time for puppy-care of course).
I’m grateful I’m in good health. Seeing friends who aren’t, I amend that to “very, very, very grateful.”
I’m thankful to live in Durham. It’s a cool place, even though I don’t get out and take advantage of it as much as I’d like to.
I’m so happy we adopted Plush Dog and Trixie. For all the work and time it takes, life is much better with them in it. And I’m also thankful we can afford to pay for their illnesses when they get them — for years that was the big obstacle to me getting a pet, but no more.
And of course I’m grateful for TYG a hundred times over. I fantasized for a long while about the kind of women I’d end up with (assuming I was lucky enough to end up with anyone). TYG’s not much like I imagined, but she’s also much better than I imagined. Thanks, love.
