Another week of somewhat modest achievement (#SFWApro)

But my schedule is starting to cohere, and I am achieving my somewhat modest goals. So that’s a start. Nothing but Demand Media and time-travel movies, though.

I sometimes worry that when Plush Dog is finally well, I’ll wind up being even busier with the dogs. He’ll want attention. Trixie will want attention. They’ll both want walkies. But I’ll still be glad he’s well.

I am working on training Trixie with practical stuff. Getting “down” when I need her off me. And lying “still.” Of course I just started today so it’ll be a while. I’m also working on her overly enthusiastic habit of nipping. I’m trying the same tactic I did to get her to stop humping my arm when I work, just withdrawing my hands, not petting or talking or making eye contact for about thirty seconds. We’ll see if it works.

She’s compensating by developing new habit, though. Chihuahuas, TYG has informed me are diggers, and when Trixie doesn’t think she’s being played with enough, she starts digging in the couch, which forces me to pay attention. I’ve tried giving her big blocks of time to play–a 20 minute walk in the morning, another in the afternoon, 15 minutes of play a couple of times–but she’s still disinclined to wait for the attention. But I’ll keep up the schedule and the training in-between.

Sigh. I look forward to someday doing a weekly report that involves fiction again.
