The Gay Agenda Strikes!

That’s the title of my latest And column, concerning Charles Colson’s claim the behavior of gay-marriage advocates toward their opponents is no different from the way segregationists treated civil-rights marchers or Nazis treated Jews. Suffice to say, I think Colson’s just a teensy bit … full of shit.
In a similar vein, Slacktivist discusses right-wing rants about how abortionists are all agents of Satan, and pastors who claim they’re ready to be martyred rather than let their health plan cover birth control (and yet, somehow, they remain free and uncrushed). More from Slacktivist here and here. Did you know Planned Parenthood deliberately gives people bogus contraceptives so that when they fail, it can rake in money off abortions?
Delusional, yes. But as so many abortion killings and bombings have shown, it has consequences.
Happily, not everyone’s buying it. Here‘s a story about a Catholic high school assembly that warned students that gay families and adoptive families are sick, broken and horrible, but the students didn’t go along (If you’re wondering why the Catholic Church would suddenly denounce adoption, commenters suggest it ties in with some states deciding that if the church takes government dollars for adoption, it can’t exclude gays).
•You may have heard that National Review fired John Derbyshire for being even more racist than they could stand. Or at least, than they could bear to be associated with–he described himself several years ago as both racist and homophobe (but a tolerant one!) so what did they expect?
