Structural integrity

The third Big Pulp story, Spider, Spider Burning Bright, is finally shaping up.
I’ve been having lots of trouble giving Steve an emotional arc that I liked, and figuring out a plot that will a)get him and Gwen working together, and b)actually makes sense as a sequence of events.
I think I’ve got it. It needs, of course, lots of revision, both planting clues early on and adding some character bits so the emotional payoff at the climax is more satisfying, but I think the actual course of events is pretty much set. Which, since I’ll need to get this to them by early May, is a big relief.
There’s always a fear early on in the process that this time, the story won’t resolve itself no matter how many drafts I put it through. It’s always a joy to get past that point.
